Prabu Perdana
B. 1985
Prabu Perdana is an Indonesian contemporary artist based in Bandung, working primarily in painting. His practice lies between realism and surrealism, creating poetic landscapes that bring together natural elements and abandoned architectural structures. Drawing from observations around his studio, he constructs imaginative spaces that reflect psychological states, collective memory, and the relationship between humans and the environment.
He gained international recognition after winning the UOB Painting of the Year Southeast Asia 2020 (Professional Category) with Isolated Garden. He has also received the Indonesian Art Award (2018) and was a finalist in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year. His solo exhibitions include Overlapping Perspective (2017), In Another Land (2023), Beyond Horizons (2024), and Lanskap Diantara Dua Latar (2025), alongside numerous group exhibitions. His process often begins with photographic documentation of landscapes around Bandung, which he transforms into imaginative compositions where lush nature contrasts with empty, abandoned structures.
