Ni Nyoman Sani
B. 1975
Ni Nyoman Sani is a Bali-based artist with national and international exhibition experience. Her works are included in museum collections in Germany, the Netherlands, and Bali. She studied art at ISI Bali and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in arts management. Since the late 1990s, she has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows across Indonesia and abroad, including in Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Taiwan, and Thailand. Her practice often involves interdisciplinary collaboration, combining visual art with poetry, dance, and installation.
She was a finalist of the Philip Morris Art Award in 2000 and won First Prize at the UOB Painting of the Year in 2023. Known for her consistent practice, she explores themes of womanhood, nature, and emotional expression. Throughout her career, she has presented solo exhibitions at venues such as Bentara Budaya Bali and Gaya Fusion Ubud, as well as galleries in Singapore and Italy, while also taking part in residencies, art camps, and major events including Art Jakarta and Art Jog.
